FAQ

How does the lyrics syllable counter work?

It splits every line into words and counts syllables with English pronunciation rules plus a list of tricky songwriting words. Each section (separated by [tags] or blank lines) gets a typical length, and lines 2+ syllables away from it are marked red.

Is it accurate?

It is accurate for most everyday English words. Words with several common pronunciations (fire, every, family) can be counted differently by different singers, so treat ±1 syllable as normal.

Is it free?

Yes. The syllable counter is free, needs no sign-up and runs in your browser – your lyrics are not uploaded.

Why do syllables per line matter for Suno?

AI singers fit your words onto a melody. Lines with very different syllable counts get rushed or stretched, which is the most common reason AI vocals mumble.
